You may be asking yourself, what is a Trad night? Trad nights in Ireland are a vibrant celebration of Irish culture, featuring traditional music, dance and storytelling. These nights include live music sessions at pubs, where musicians perform traditional Irish music, such as fiddle, tin whistle and uillean pipes.
The Trad Night set up: The contractor on our Project is called Structure Tone. The team has been great partners on our project and I am included as “one of the team” in all of their outings. They have hosted me a a rugby match which I am now fondly calling “Leah and the Lads” as I was the only female present. But they were such fun to include me.
The Trad night I attended was hosted by Structure Tone in a lovely local pub. As I ventured upstairs in the pub, I could hear some lovely Irish music. It turned out to be the company musicians – they call themselves the “Structure Tones”!
The Structure Tones”

The performers were Structure Tone employees and the instruments included were several guitars, a small button accordion (Bosca ceoil), a recorder or tin whistle, a couple of fiddles and plenty of Guinness! The party continued on into the “wee” hours and there were a lot of subdued workers on the job site the following day – but it was great “craic”, as they say here.
